3 transportation options from Kansai Airport to Osaka

Welcome to Japan!  Are you excited about your adventure of exploring Japan?

Tune In Nagoya provides Japan Rail Pass users or frugal travelers with the first tip you should know about how to comfortably get out of the second most popular entry point to Japan, or Kansai Airpot, to reach Osaka!!

(For the transportation options from Narita Airport to Tokyo, see our previous post).

The first two options are operated by JR line (Yes, you can use Japan Rail Pass) and less complicated from the other two options (below).
  •  JR line: Haruka Rapid: 2330 yen for about 50-minute direct ride from Kansai Airport to Osaka Station.  This train includes express charge, but extra 520 yen is required for your seat reservation.  Japan Rail Pass is valid for this ride.
IF you don't find troublesome to change strains at some point before your arrival at Osaka Station, you can choose the second option.

IF you want to save your Japan Rail Pass for later exploration, here are two options available to reach Osaka.
  • JR line plus Nankai Dentetsu OR JR line plus Subway:  These ways of reaching Osaka Station are also available, but we would not recommend these to international travelers with heavy luggage who are unfamiliar with the complicated train system.  If you are interested in exploring in an adventurous way, you could try these.
IF you are interested in bus ride from Kansai Airport to Osaka, the following shuttle service is available.
  • Limousine Bus: 1550 yen for 60- to 70-minute ride.  However, the estimated time is subject to the traffic and the time of the day.

Enjoy your excursion to Osaka metropolitan area!!
